Happy World Photography Day! 📸

I picked up the camera and started capturing images over 15 years ago. It's allowed me to connect with so many people and places over my life and is something I've proudly made a freelance career out of.

I'm sharing this image from my archives in India on World Photography Day because it reflects how I developed my craft as a documentary shooter.

Capturing people in environments is what I love to do. For me, it reflects the world at that given moment in time. I've shot across Asia, Australia & the Americas, but it was in India where I built my connection to documenting culture & community by focusing the lens inward on my heritage.

While I've worn many hats through my work, picking up the camera to document humanity and learning from other documentarians is what constantly inspires me to create.

🗒️ World Photography Day is celebrated on August 19 every year to pay homage to photographers who contributed to the fields of photography. The day is observed to encourage people to take up the art.

Looking for a reason to pick up the camera? I hope this inspires you to go create something on this day!
